Our Purpose
They Birth They Art transforms lives by providing intersectional community care, access to midwifery services, and healing arts processes to empower historically under-resourced and strategically undervalued people and families.
Our Vision
one day, every person experiencing reconnection, pregnancy, loss, or gender journey is deeply supported by a midwife and an organized community who develop creative responses rooted in compassion to cultivate belonging and purpose.
Our Values
- Creative: We strive to attain a creative mindset to approach work with openness to explore, lead by learning, and practice with curiosity, intentionality, and self-worth.
- Courage: Innate from birth, courage can be brought forth to learn new things, stay accountable, ask & respond to support, and interrupt oppression in real time.
- Transparent: Being open and honest about every level of organization builds trust with everyone who engages with us in this work to make fully informed decisions of and for support (zeffy). From intention and goal setting, to finances, policy, staff roles, and program outcomes, transparency as a core value is an equitable practice
- Intersectional: We critically examine and address the way oppression intersects to build community with a foundation of solidarity relationships, rendering the systems obselete that police our bodies, communities, and lands.
- Learning with Love in Community: centering love in all that we touch with this work means we prioritize well-being, meaning, connection, and resilience—alongside conventional metrics like quality and financial success (Beloved Economies)
